New York native Andy Mineo is a hip hop recording artist known for his reflective lyricism. His sophomore album, Uncomfortable, became the No. 1 Independent record in the country and delivered a No. 3 and No.10 position on Billboardʼs Hip Hop and Top 200 album charts, respectively. Mineo headlined the Uncomfortable Tour, a 52-city tour which sold out legendary venues across America and in Europe. He has appeared on Sirius XMʼs Sway In The Morning, MTV, and his colossal hit “You Canʼt Stop Me” won an ESPN Whammy Award for MLBʼs Top Walk Up Song. Andy Mineo carries his music beyond through scripting, producing and directing many of his own music videos. He also created a 3-season webseries on YouTube called “Saturday Morning Car-Tunez” which garnered over 1M views and gave fans a glimpse into his creative process and personal life. Beyond the critical adulation, he is a born communicator with comedic timing who has become a social media juggernaut with an audience of over 1.3M and growing
Canadian rapper Sonreal was born Aaron Hoffmann in Vernon, British Columbia in 1985. Growing up in a small town, he was interested early on in skateboarding and heavy metal, but his tastes quickly shifted to a love of hip-hop after becoming fascinated with classic albums by pillars of the early-’90s East Coast scene like Nas and Mobb Deep. After graduating high school, he spent all of his free time recording his own original tracks, resulting in his earliest mixtapes such as 2006’s Trapped in the Streets, 2009’s The Stroll, and the more polished 2011 effort Where’s Waldo. He began to be recognized for his work in Canada, and with the help of a breakout video for his track “Everywhere We Go,” constant touring, and releasing of new music in the form of EPs and free mixtapes, he eventually inked a deal with Capitol Records. With the support of the label, he delivered his first proper full-length studio album, One Long Dream, in 2017.
Christian rapper and poet Propaganda became known as part of the pioneering underground rap collective the Tunnel Rats. His intelligent lyrics are a product of his passion for poetry, and his smooth, unique style has earned him respect in the underground rap world. Over the years, his sound has developed in intensity and focus, marketing to the Christian community but winning plenty of secular fans as well for his thoughtful, unique work. He made his full-length solo debut with Out of Knowhere (2003), and has since strung together three consecutive LPs that have registered on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart, most notably Crimson Cord (2014), a set that also dented independent and rap charts, as well as the Billboard 200. Propaganda built on that success with his sixth full-length, Crooked (2017), which has been followed by the EPs Nothing But a Word (2019) and Terraform: The People (2021).
John Itiola, aka Wordsplayed, is a Christian rapper based in San Diego. His style is influenced by trap music, a subgenre of hip-hop characterized by steady tempos and a prominent use of kick drums, hi-hat, and synthesizers. Born to Nigerian immigrants who moved to the United States in the early 1980s, Itiola grew up in Long Island, New York. In 2008, he became friends with members of the evangelical hip-hop ministry T.R.U.C.E., which included the rapper Andy Mineo, who gave Itiola a guest spot (credited as John “Word Up” Itiola) on his 2009 Sin Is Wack mixtape. Itiola also joined Mineo’s artist collective Miner League. Itiola released his debut single as Wordsplayed, “Martinelli’s (ft. Andy Mineo),” in 2014. He followed it with the 2015 single “Sammy Sosa” and the 2016 mixtape Clowntown, which was released by Miner League and hit number 35 on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart. In 2017, Itiola and Mineo teamed up for Andy Mineo & Wordsplayed Present Magic & Bird. The full-length collaboration debuted at number 49 on the all-genre Billboard 200.
